Merry Christmas from Beacon Hill!

Celebrating together

In this season of celebration of the birth of our Saviour, we have so much to give thanks for. The Christmas season has also been a reminder of why we work, joyfully, here on earth while we wait His return. We praise God for the opportunity to implement and support Covenant education for our kids and the generations to come in a place where they will learn about this gift of Salvation, Jesus incarnate!

Working on this school has been a learning, stretching, and exciting experience for us at Beacon Hill and there is joy in this work because we know it is ultimately for God's glory and for us to give thanks for his goodness. What meaningful work it is, to be part of 'raising up' future generations that will know and love the Lord.

The Beacon Hill Board has adopted a meeting schedule of twice a week to keep up with the exciting developments that are bringing us closer and closer to opening day! Just this past week, a member of our Location Committee attended a Town meeting in Aurora to research long term location potentials, our website is almost at launch date thanks to the very talented Capture Studios in Waterdown, our Bethel Logistics Committee is working on classroom set up & detail organization, and our 'Programs Offered' checklist is getting closer to completion!

On one hand, September 2023 is coming quickly, and on the other, it can't come soon enough!

The curriculum has also been front and centre of planning and we feel confident in the Christian curriculum being used. Want to know more? Email us at info@beaconhillca.org.

We're looking forward to being at the cutting edge of Christian schools, introducing Apologetics as a course offered for our Senior Grades. This course addition aligns with our vision to 'equip' - not just in words, but in truth and action!

We've published an FAQ here on the blog already (https://www.beaconhillca.org/post/our-first-q-a-what-do-you-want-to-know) but we've been asked this question many times and we love answering it: What makes Beacon Hill different? Among many other things, our commitment to Christian education and the faithful teaching and raising of our Covenant kids is a big piece of the 'Why?' for us. This is obvious when you look through the Christian lens we are eager to teach through - even math points to a Creator (and a creative One!) that establishes patterns and principles for His creation! But one of the unique aspects of this school start up is our vision to value, and actively participate in, the intergenerational relationships of the community we serve. The 'wisdom of the old' is to be passed down to our kids and, in turn, our kids can be such big blessings to their elders! What does this look like? As we prepare to lay out the School Calendar for 2023/2024 it may be an addition of classroom visits with our seniors, classes visiting care facilities, in-school student partnerships, sending cards and encouragement between the generations, or volunteer work that resembles the example of service Christ showed us to follow. Community is the 'C' in our Core Values and this school is different because our partnership with our community, and the value we see in the rich resource that is the multi-generational relationship, is why our students will be taught and equipped to thrive where it matters.

We wish you and your family a warm and blessed Christian season as you celebrate the wonderful and complete gift that is our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

See you in the new year!
